How to use the WEBP to PNG / JPEG converter
This tool converts a WEBP image into a standard PNG or JPEG file in your browser.
Nothing is uploaded to Black Swan or any external service.
1. Choose your WEBP image
Click Choose WEBP file.
Select a file ending in .webp from your computer.
Check the file name appears next to the button.
If you see an error about file type, make sure the file is actually WEBP, not PNG or JPEG.
2. Choose the output format
Under Output format, pick:
PNG – lossless quality, larger file size, good for graphics and logos.
JPEG – smaller file, good for photos and web use.
If you pick JPEG, you’ll see a JPEG quality slider:
Higher % = better quality, bigger file.
80–90% is usually a good balance.
3. Convert and download
Click Convert image.
The tool will:
Load the WEBP image into a hidden canvas
Re-export it as PNG or JPEG
When it’s done, you’ll see:
A short message with the new file name
A Download converted image link
A small preview of the result
Click Download converted image and save it to your device.
4. When this is useful
Exporting WEBP images from websites into more widely supported formats
Sending images to people or systems that don’t accept WEBP
Preparing assets for documents, older software or simple tools that only understand PNG/JPEG
Because everything runs in the browser, it’s a simple way to cleanly convert assets without uploading client images to online converters.
5. Troubleshooting
“Please choose a WEBP image first.”
You clicked convert without selecting a file.“Unsupported file type.”
The file isn’t recognised asimage/webp. Check the extension and try again. The preview looks soft or blocky
Try increasing the JPEG quality slider, or switch to PNG for lossless output.
