How to use the Secret Santa Matcher
1. Add your names
Type each name on its own line in the box. Spelling matters – that’s what appears on the labels.
If you import a CSV, we’ll skip the header row and only use the first column for names.
2. Add couples / exclusions (optional)
Click + Add Pair and choose two names from the dropdowns. We’ll make sure they don’t draw each other.
You can add as many pairs as you like (couples, siblings, housemates, etc.).
3. Generate the matches
Press 🎁 Generate Matches. The matcher creates a fair draw where:
No one picks themselves
No one picks anyone they’re paired with in the exclusions
Everyone gives and receives one gift
4. Check the list
The pairings appear underneath.
You can press 🎁 Generate Matches again any time to reshuffle with the same names and exclusions.
5. Export your results
CSV – downloads a file you can open in Excel or Google Sheets.
PDF labels – creates A4 sheets with 14 labels per page, laid out like address labels, ready to print and cut or pop into envelopes.
