Rights for individuals

At Black Swan Cyber Security Solutions, we take your privacy seriously. As part of our commitment to data protection and compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT), we uphold the rights of individuals whose personal data we process.

You have the following rights:

1. Right to be Informed

You have the right to clear, transparent information about how we collect, use, and store your personal data. This information is provided in our Privacy policy and throughout our communications with you.

2. Right of Access

You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. This is commonly known as a Subject Access Request (SAR). We will respond within one calendar month.

3. Right to Rectification

If you believe any data we hold about you is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to ask us to correct or update it.

4. Right to Erasure (“Right to be Forgotten”)

In certain circumstances, you can request that we delete the personal data we hold about you, where there is no compelling reason for us to continue processing it.

5. Right to Restrict Processing

You may request that we limit how we use your data. This can apply, for example, if you contest the accuracy of the data or object to us processing it.

6. Right to Data Portability

Where applicable, you can ask us to provide your personal data in a commonly used, machine-readable format and/or to transfer it to another data controller.

7. Right to Object

You can object to processing in certain cases, such as where data is used for direct marketing or processed based on legitimate interests.

8. Rights Related to Automated Decision-Making and Profiling

You have the right not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing, including profiling, unless certain conditions are met.

You may also complete the form below.  We will respond to all valid requests within one calendar month. If your request is particularly complex, we may extend this by a further two months, but we’ll let you know if this is the case.

Concerns or complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, you can raise a data protection complaint with us.

A data protection complaint may relate to how we collect, use, store, protect, share or delete your personal data. It may also relate to how we have responded to a request you have made under data protection law.

We will acknowledge your data protection complaint within 30 calendar days of receiving it.

We will then review your complaint, make appropriate enquiries, keep you informed where necessary, and explain the outcome without undue delay.
