Refer Someone to Black Swan Cyber Security Solutions
Know someone who needs calm, plain-English cyber security advice?
If a small business, school, care provider, charity or parish council is worried about Cyber Essentials, cyber insurance, phishing, Microsoft 365 security, backups or ransomware, we’ll look after them properly.
Good people are careful with introductions. So are we.
- We’ll treat your contact with respect.
- We’ll explain cyber security in plain English.
- We’ll only recommend what is sensible and proportionate.
- We’ll keep you updated where appropriate.
For clients
If we’ve helped you and you know another organisation that could benefit from the same practical support, we’d be grateful for an introduction.

For local contacts
You do not need to understand cyber security to refer someone. You only need to spot when someone needs clear advice from someone they can trust.
When should you refer someone?
Cyber security can sound broad and technical. These are the real-world moments where a quick introduction can help.
What happens after you introduce someone?
We start with a short, practical conversation. The aim is to understand what they are worried about, what they already have in place, and what they need next.
- We contact them politely and explain why we are getting in touch.
- We offer a short, no-pressure cyber review.
- We focus on the biggest risks first.
- We give clear advice, not a shopping list.
- We keep the referral professional and respectful.
The simple way to introduce us
A warm email introduction works best. You can copy and paste this:
Hi [Name], I thought it might be useful to introduce you to Kevin at Black Swan Cyber Security Solutions. He helps small businesses, schools and local organisations with practical cyber security advice, Cyber Essentials, Microsoft 365 security, phishing, backups and cyber insurance readiness. Kevin, I’ll let you both take it from here.
How we handle referrals
A referral should never feel like pressure. It should feel like a useful introduction at the right time.
You make the introduction
Send an email, use the form below, or point them towards this page.
We listen first
We ask what has prompted the conversation and what they are trying to solve.
We give clear next steps
We explain what matters, what can wait, and what a sensible plan could look like.
We say thank you
Whether it turns into work or not, we appreciate trusted introductions.
Who we are a good fit for
We are best suited to organisations that want sensible, practical cyber security support without jargon or scare tactics.
- Small businesses
- Schools and academies
- Care providers and nurseries
- Parish councils and charities
- Professional services firms
- Trades and local contractors
Who we are not a good fit for
Referrals work best when the fit is right. We may not be the right choice where someone wants the cheapest box-ticking exercise or is not ready to take cyber security seriously.
- Organisations looking for a quick certificate with no changes
- Businesses that want to ignore basic controls like MFA
- Enterprise projects needing a large consultancy team
- One-off consumer device repairs or home IT support

Referral FAQs
A few quick answers before you introduce someone.
Do you pay for referrals?
We normally prefer to keep client and community referrals based on trust, not commission. For formal partner arrangements, we are happy to discuss a transparent approach that works for both sides.
Will you pressure the person I introduce?
No. We will have a helpful conversation, explain sensible next steps, and let them decide what they want to do.
What if I am not sure whether they need cyber security help?
That is fine. If they are worried about phishing, ransomware, Microsoft 365, Cyber Essentials, cyber insurance, backups or suspicious activity, a short conversation is usually worthwhile.
Can partners refer clients without losing control of the relationship?
Yes. We respect existing client relationships. Our role is to support the cyber security piece, not interfere with your core service.
What areas do you cover?
We are based in Chesterfield and support organisations across Derbyshire, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, Worksop, North Nottinghamshire and wider UK locations where remote support is suitable.
Know someone who needs cyber security advice they can actually understand?
Send them our way. We’ll keep it calm, practical and proportionate.
