Black Swan Cyber Security Solutions is a small Chesterfield-based cyber security provider. We are not legally required to publish a Modern Slavery Statement, but we do so voluntarily because trust, human rights and responsible supplier relationships matter.
Our position is simple: exploitation has no place in our business or supply chain.
We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, servitude and exploitation.
As a cyber security provider, our direct risk is relatively low. We do not manufacture goods, run large physical supply chains or rely on high-volume labour. But low risk does not mean no responsibility.
We work with software vendors, cloud platforms, professional services, contractors and business partners. We expect those organisations to act lawfully, ethically and in line with basic human rights.

Black Swan Cyber Security Solutions provides managed cyber security services for schools, care providers, small businesses, charities, parish councils and professional organisations.
We are based in Chesterfield and support clients across Derbyshire, South Yorkshire and the wider UK.

What we mean by modern slavery
Modern slavery can take many forms. It can include forced labour, human trafficking, servitude, debt bondage, child exploitation and situations where someone is controlled, threatened or unable to leave.
Forced labour
Work carried out under threat, coercion or control, where someone cannot freely refuse or leave.
Human trafficking
Moving, recruiting or controlling people for the purpose of exploitation.
Exploitation
Taking advantage of vulnerability, debt, fear, immigration status, poverty or lack of power.
Our commitment
We are committed to working ethically and responsibly. That includes how we choose suppliers, how we treat people, and how we respond if a concern is raised.
- Zero tolerance: we do not tolerate modern slavery, human trafficking or exploitation in our business or supply chain.
- Responsible relationships: we expect suppliers, contractors and partners to comply with applicable laws and ethical standards.
- Risk awareness: we consider modern slavery risk when working with new suppliers or business partners.
- Clear reporting: concerns can be raised directly with us and will be handled confidentially and seriously.
- Proportionate checks: we carry out checks that are sensible for the size, nature and risk level of our business.
- Ongoing review: we review our approach as the business, suppliers and wider risk picture change.
Our supplier risk is lower, but we still pay attention.
We mainly work with established technology suppliers, cloud providers, software vendors and professional services organisations. That reduces some common supply-chain risks, but it does not remove the need for judgement.
- Supplier selection: we aim to work with reputable suppliers and partners who operate lawfully and responsibly.
- Contractor awareness: where contractors or partners support our work, we expect them to follow legal and ethical standards.
- Higher-risk situations: where a supplier, sector or service appears higher risk, we may ask further questions before working together.
- Action where needed: if we identify credible concerns, we will review the relationship and take appropriate steps.
Due diligence and monitoring
Our approach is proportionate to the size and nature of the business. We focus on practical checks, awareness and sensible escalation rather than overcomplicated paperwork.
- Risk assessment: we consider whether suppliers or services may create modern slavery or labour-exploitation risks.
- Supplier review: we review supplier suitability, reputation and alignment with our ethical expectations.
- Staff awareness: people working with us are expected to raise concerns if something does not feel right.
- Confidential handling: concerns are treated seriously and handled with care.
- Response and escalation: where appropriate, concerns may be escalated to relevant authorities, regulators or specialist support organisations.
- Annual review: we review this statement and our approach at least once a year.

- We will not ignore credible concerns. If something appears wrong, we will look into it.
- We will act proportionately. The response will depend on the nature and seriousness of the concern.
- We will protect confidentiality where possible. Concerns will be handled carefully and respectfully.
