CVE Lookup Tool
Use this free CVE lookup tool to check public vulnerability information from the National Vulnerability Database.
Search by CVE ID, vendor, product or keyword to see the vulnerability description, CVSS score, severity, publication date, update date and useful references.
This is a quick research tool, not a full vulnerability assessment. A CVE only becomes a business risk when it matches software, versions, configuration or exposure inside your organisation.
The National Vulnerability Database is useful, but it does not tell you whether your own systems are affected. For that, you need asset visibility, patch status, endpoint monitoring and someone who can turn the data into a sensible action plan.
Check a CVE before it becomes noise, panic or guesswork.
Search for a CVE ID or keyword and get a plain English view of the vulnerability details held by the National Vulnerability Database. Useful for patching checks, cyber insurance evidence, supplier questions and quick risk conversations.
This tool uses NVD data as a starting point. It does not prove whether your organisation is affected. Real risk depends on the product, version, exposure, configuration, compensating controls and whether the issue is being actively exploited.
CVE data is useful. Patching is where the risk starts to come down.
Looking up vulnerabilities is only part of the job. The next step is knowing which devices are affected, which updates are missing, and how quickly you can close the gap without disrupting the working day.
Heimdal Patch & Asset Management
Automated patching and asset visibility, managed as part of a wider cyber security stack. A strong fit when you want patching to sit alongside endpoint protection, ransomware defence and MXDR.
Action1 Patch Management
Cloud-based patch management for keeping track of missing updates across endpoints. Useful for smaller teams that need clearer visibility, faster remediation and practical reporting.
Huntress Managed EDR
Useful because CVE lookup often leads to the question: “Would we know if this was being exploited?”
Cyber Essentials certification support
CVE searches naturally connect to patching, unsupported software, secure configuration and basic controls.
Not every CVE needs panic. Some need checking, some need patching, and some need a proper look at exposure, versions and business impact.
