Our Cyber Resilience Pledge
Backing the UK Government’s Cyber Resilience Pledge with action, accountability and support for the businesses that rely on us.
Our Cyber Resilience Pledge
Real commitment. Not just words.
Black Swan Cyber Security Solutions has signed the UK Government Cyber Resilience Pledge because cyber security should be owned, checked, tested and talked about at leadership level.
For the businesses, schools, care providers, charities and local organisations we support across Chesterfield, Sheffield, Derbyshire and the wider UK, this matters. You are not just working with a cyber security provider. You are working with a partner that is actively aligning with national cyber resilience guidance and helping raise the standard across the supply chain.
Why we signed the pledge
Cyber resilience is bigger than antivirus, firewalls or ticking a compliance box. It is about knowing who is responsible, understanding where the risks sit, spotting problems early, and being able to recover when something goes wrong.
The Government Cyber Resilience Pledge focuses on three practical areas: making cyber a board-level responsibility, signing up to NCSC Early Warning, and improving Cyber Essentials coverage across supply chains.
Leadership responsibility
Cyber security belongs in leadership conversations. It should not be left as a purely technical issue until something goes wrong.
Earlier warning signs
Early warning helps organisations spot suspicious activity sooner, giving them a better chance of acting before disruption spreads.
Stronger supply chains
Most businesses rely on other businesses. Cyber Essentials gives suppliers a practical baseline for reducing common cyber risks.
What this means for our clients
This pledge is not a marketing badge we stick on a page and forget about. It supports the way we already work with clients: practical advice, clear priorities, and sensible cyber security that fits the organisation.
- You get cyber security advice that connects technical risk with business risk.
- You get support from a business that treats resilience as an ongoing responsibility.
- You get help understanding Cyber Essentials, supply chain assurance and board-level cyber governance.
- You get a partner who can work alongside your existing IT provider rather than replace them.
- You get guidance that is grounded in what small and medium-sized organisations actually face.
Our view is simple
A business does not become resilient because it bought a tool. It becomes resilient when leadership understands the risk, people know what to do, systems are protected, suppliers are checked, and recovery has been thought through before the bad day arrives.
Cyber security is now a senior priority. The evidence often tells a different story.
More boards and senior managers are talking about cyber resilience, cyber insurance and supplier risk. That is good. The problem is that saying cyber security matters is not the same as having the basics checked, documented and ready when something goes wrong.
But priority is not the same as readiness.
Cyber resilience comes down to what has actually been reviewed, tested and put in place. That includes risk assessments, incident response plans, supplier checks and Cyber Essentials requirements.
This is where many smaller organisations find the gap between good intentions and practical evidence.
This is where cyber resilience becomes practical.
It is not about making every organisation perfect. It is about knowing your risks, making sensible improvements, preparing for disruption and being able to prove what you have done.
The areas worth checking first

That is the standard we want to hold ourselves to. It is also the standard we want to help our clients move towards.
